For an e-Business Solution to be effectively
developed, a Client needs, in addition
to internal analysis and discourse,
access to a number of external ideas
and advice. These cover:

- e-Business
Strategy

| Taking
an eBusiness live is a complex and challenging
task. At BITS, we employ a unique 3-phase
process (Discover-Develop-Deploy) for all
client engagements. |

1.
DISCOVER
The critical starting
point for any venture, as successful businesses
will testify, is investigation and analysis.
Unfortunately, when taking advantage of the
client's rush to establish a web presence,
most IT companies skip offering support in
these areas. BITS works closely with a client
to understand business objectives and strategies
currently in place. Through interviews and
meetings, our analysts discuss needs and identify
impacts on existing practices. The objective
of such an exercise is to formulate a strategy
that leverages the potential of computers,
communication and content. A comprehensive
and holistic strategy ensures a smooth shift
into the networked world and sets a client
apart from the competition.
At this stage, BITS and the Client chalk out
collaboration strategies, key roles, responsibilities,
deliverables, and milestones.
The next step is to develop production plans,
site architecture, and process diagrams resulting
in an HTML-based protosite. The protosite
comprises of a set of linked pages that demonstrate
information architecture and functionality. |

2.
DEVELOP
In this phase,
we move from whiteboards, reports, and demonstrations
to implementation. The production plan and
protosite serve as a launching pad for the
development process. Construction and testing
begins on the basis of a mutually established
development schedule. The Client is involved
at all stages and feedback is solicited at
specified milestones.
Interaction with the Client is critical at
this stage and involved participation will
go a long way towards in developing a tailored
product.
By the end of this phase, a fully functional
site/application is prepared and BITS gets
geared for final testing and deployment.
Throughout both the above phases, our website
facilitates subsequent communication through
secure client sections that contain demonstrations,
design layouts, and other project-related
information. |

3.
DEPLOY
In the deployment
phase, the application/site goes live, onto
a hosting or an Intranet-based server. At
this time, BITS conducts orientation sessions
to ensure that the Client understands integral
aspects of the site and how they work. Technology
Transfer & Training (TTT) forms the next
step during which areas of basic maintenance
and administration are also covered.
All supporting material for the application/site
are handed over to the Client for reference
and changes to be administered by the Client
unless this is further contracted to BITS.
Ongoing support and advice are key components
of our strategy. Post-deployment, we continue
our relationship, keeping clients informed
of new technologies and innovations, while
ascertaining future needs. |
