Wins Best General Application at PASHA ICT Awards 2004 Karachi, Pakistan - October 2, 2004 - Me & U, an application developed by b.i.t.s. for Unilever Pakistan Limited, won a coveted award for Best Application in the General Software category. The award was presented by Pakistan Software Houses Association (PASHA), in recognition of software and service applications that have been developed in Pakistan. The PASHA ICT Awards have been instituted to acknowledge creativity, innovation and excellence in the Pakistan Information and Communication Technologies sector. Unilever Pakistan Limited - intensely focused on internal "customers" - Commissioned b.i.t.s. to create Me & U in April 2003. Not just another Intranet, Me & U takes employee engagement to new levels, whilst simplifying processes, and saving costs. Me & U empowers its members by providing a single, unified platform through which they can assess critical organizational information, perform tasks, share their views with colleagues, participate in events, self-assess and improve their skills. Winners were announced at the Awards Presentation Gala Dinner held in Karachi and the awards were presented by Pakistan's Federal Minister for Information Technology, Mr. Awais Leghari. Me & U was short-listed from scores of nominations by a panel of respected industry experts from the corporate sector. The judging process of the PASHA ICT Awards was rigorous and comprised of several steps including hands-on demonstrations to the judges. In addition to winning the PASHA ICT Award, b.i.t.s. has been chosen by Unilever Arabia to design, develop and implement localized versions of Me & U for use in 8 countries of their region.
